The Qualcomm Wireless Academy (QWA) offers a variety of 5G training courses that cover Voice Over NR and other voice-related wireless technologies. In this article, we discuss what these courses are, what they cover, and how you can enroll.

QWA’s 5G Voice-Related Training Courses for Wireless Engineers

At QWA, we offer five 5G training courses that focus on technologies related to 5G NR Voice. Please see below for an overview of each course and how you can sign up. Please note that each course is taught via our eLearning format, so you can learn online and at your own pace. We can also set up live in-person or virtual training sessions for groups of at least 15 people.

  • VoNR Technical Training: Geared toward network and systems engineers, this course covers VoNR architecture, mobility scenarios, call flow procedures, and enhancements related to 5G NR voice options. The course also covers more than 20 additional topics related to VoNR that can be viewed on the course page here.
  • VoNR Log Analysis Workshop: Through this hands-on workshop, engineers analyze real log files, including IMS PDU session establishment, P-CSCF discovery, IMS registration, and IMS re-registration. The course also covers VoNR conference call scenarios, emergency calls over VoNR, VoNR mobility possibilities, and much more. You can learn more here.
  • Voice Options for 5G – Non-Standalone Mode: This course is for engineers with at least a small background in 5G and/or LTE. It covers an overview of 5G NSA network architecture, voice options for NSA mode, an overview of Option 3 family, roaming, and emergency services, and more. Please click here for a complete description of the course.
  • Packet Switched Fallback (Data and Voice) Training: Geared toward network, systems, and RF engineers, this course introduces Packet Switched Fallback for both data and voice. It also covers network architecture, the different types of EPS fallback and enhancements, various use cases, and more. Please view the course page here for more information.
  • Packet Switched Fallback (Data & Voice) Log Analysis Workshop: Similar to the log analysis course discussed above, this workshop allows engineers to analyze real log files. Through this course, participants examine UE logs for different PSFB scenarios, walk through RRC, NAS, and SIP signaling messages, and much more. Please view the course page here to learn more.

Please note that each course above requires a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to access. This is a quick and simple process, but it means that we can only offer these courses to individuals if a representative of their company signs an NDA.
