We are excited to announce that the Qualcomm Wireless Academy (QWA) is teaming up with the Central Asian Cellular Forum (CACF) to offer free 5G training to university students across Central Asia. By taking part in this initiative, students of all levels will receive a valuable professional development opportunity in a dynamic and growing industry.

“5G is expanding rapidly across Central Asia, so there is a huge need for talented wireless engineers and technicians to support our networks,” Khalid Khan, Chairman of CACF, said. “This opportunity will hopefully get students started on the right track toward a promising career.”

This opportunity is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at universities throughout Central Asia. Please read on below to learn more about this initiative and how you can get involved.

How this 5G Training Initiative Works

Through our program, students may take one QWA 5G training course for free and may choose between a beginner, intermediate, and advanced course. Specifically, students may choose from the following three options:

  1. 5G Primer: A two-hour overview of 5G for business and/or engineering students without 5G experience.
  2. Fundamentals of Cellular Communication and 5G: A six-hour overview of 5G and wireless communication for business and/or engineering students looking for something more in-depth, but not too advanced.
  3. 5G NR Technical TrainingA more technical and in-depth six-hour course for engineering students with at least a basic level of wireless/5G knowledge.

Students may take more advanced 5G training courses through QWA at a discount. To learn more about this initiative, please visit CACF’s website.
